History is passed down as important knowledge of everything that has come before. Our understanding of history is becoming increasingly necessary; the deeper issues are that we, as the general population, are progressively becoming blind to the fact that history can and will and are being manipulated. History is manipulated on every scale; from saying you didn't eat that last piece of pizza to a government lying about involvement in a controversial event.
 

During my research into this topic I came to a strange realization on what I was reading:
 

How did I know that what I was reading about history being manipulated wasn't manipulated itself? Reading about how America’s involvement in Vietnam wasn't all it seemed to be could be just as tampered with as much as the article claimed that the original history is tampered with. The Geneva Accords called for Vietnam to be separated temporarily until elections could be held for either a democratic or communist party to take over leadership. There are theories however that state that America founded a fake democratic government and sponsored a propaganda campaign to show non existent support and plant a Democratic nation as the new Vietnam.



But now begs the question: How and Why would this part of history be manipulated? Or any part of history for that matter?



The techniques involved range from complete eradication of evidence to suppression on a national level. The internet has also completely changed this element; you never know whats true unless you are their or you have faith in what you know (Validity!).​
