UNIT QUESTION:

DO WE CLASSIFY HISTORY BASED ON ITS IMPORTANCE TO US?

We all remember important historical events no matter how old we are. The Civil War, Pearl Harbor Bombing, Assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. , terrorist attacks at the Twin Towers, etc. But what about the events that we haven't heard a lot about? Are they less important because they're not as  well know? Or because it doesn't seem like it had a major affect on the world?

All Historical events have significant meanings and have huge affects on the world whether it's positive or negative. Some  just have heavy impacts on certain countries, continents or states. So depending on who it affects and how many people/places that the event impacts, it can determine the level of significance.

Finally, based on personal opinion, we will find more importance of certain historical events over others. For example, if we have ancestors or relatives who had any relation to historical events, we'll be more likely to remember them because of the connection that we have to it.
