Guiding Question: In what ways can history be manipulated by those in power?

We like to think that wen we read about or examine history that there is very little bias and that what we are reading is a true no biased account of what happened. However this is not true. There is always bias when history is recorded.

The people who record history are people who have power.  They are usually the victors of the battle or the rulers of the country. If not, then they work for the ruler of the country.

When people are in power they can manipulate or even erase parts of history. Old rulers could burn down library or collect all the accounts of an event and burn them. They could hire people to record events they way they wanted people to remember them.

In today's world we have the internet which stores everything so manipulating history is not as simple as it used to be.
