In essence, logical positivism is a noun describing a perspective that one can view knowledge with. Logical positivism favors the fact that all knowledge come from perceptual experience, as in something that can be observed through the human senses or calculated with human logic, versus intuition or revelation.

Scientism can be defined as "the idea that natural science is the most authoritative worldview or aspect of human education, and that it is superior to all other interpretations of life."

In essence, scientism favors the idea that natural science in the most important part of human education. Scientism also favors the idea that natural sciences should be looked upon to understand and explain life.
