Things to Know

A scientific investigation in which both the control group and experimental group(s) are kept under similar variables apart from the factor under study so that the effect or influence of that factor can be identified or determined.

A supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation.

Example: If the division rate of bacteria Micrococcus luteus is affected by the salt content of the water, then changing the salt saturation will have an affect on the division rate of Micrococcus luteus.

Nikola Tesla was a electrical engineer and inventor working in the United States. He developed the principles of alternating current, the first alternating current motor, the Tesla coil and several forms of oscillators.

Albert Einstein was a German physicist who is most famous for his development of the special and general theories of relativity. He also explained other phenomena such as capillary action and the structure of light (photons).
