Paradigm Shift

Tobacco has always been an important crop since the beginning of America. It has been widely used but after proven to cause serious health problems, there has been a dramatic decrease in use. In 1965 40% of American adults consumed tobacco and that number dropped in 2006 to 20.6%. Today not only is tobacco used by a minority, there are laws against it now. This is a great example of a paradigm shift because it was once widely accepted and now can be said "is looked down upon". Australia for example has a new cigarette packaging.
