Paradigm Shift

Renaissance: During the Renaissance an important shift in the acceptance of truth occurred. People began to question what they were told, and seek evidence for claims, rather than accepting them on faith alone. This led to the modern scientific age where people rely on evidence, whether it be evidence acquired based on experience or the scientific process, to accept or refute claims.

Today: At present we are in the midst of a paradigm shift where ease of access to scientific information has begun to make people rely less on experiential evidence and more on scientific evidence when it comes to everyday questions. this is an important shift because of the reliability of evidence produced by the scientific method when compared to evidence gathered through the experiences of an individual. In the future, people will be able to rely solely on evidence that has a basis in science, rather than the less reliable evidence.
