Men and women were not always thought to be as they are today. The world had different views of women in past history. Before women were looked at not as equal to men. They did not have the power to vote, and they were not respected in society. At the time most women just accepted it, because that is all they knew of, and they figured that was just the way the world worked, and they didn't see anything wrong with it. For other women, they saw it as wrong and unequal. These are the women who shifted the whole worlds view on women. Once the world started to see women differently, the world changed. Women were beginning to become respected. They were given the right to vote, and they were allowed to work, in jobs that were mostly done by men at the time. It was a great shift for the history of the women's role in today's society.
